Memories of High Water

“Memories
Light the corners of my mind
Misty watercolor memories
Of the high water of 2012” (okay, so I’m not a songwriter)

In just a few days we’ll be back to normal high-water levels – 6,000 cfs. It will seem like we’re fishing a big spring creek. We’ll have to resist the temptation to try to wade across the river at Bighorn Rapids. In loving memory of the record high water of 2012, here is another video clip of a secret side channel of the river. Water level was 11,000 cfs (I think) on July 24th. Youthful angler, Jordan, was fishing a tan Soft Hackle SowBbug/PMD Wonder Nymph setup when this fish struck. David Palmer was the guide.
